Eric is a general practice, trial and appellate attorney who specializes in the resolution of complex commercial and bankruptcy-related disputes in both state and federal courts. He handles cases involving commercial contracts and leases, bankruptcy issues, allegations of fraud and breaches of fiduciary duty, ERISA and employee benefits, defamation and breaches of copyright, the U.C.C., trust and estate documents, mechanics’ liens and construction-related disputes, the dissolution of business relationships, artist and musician contracts and the application of various state and federal statutes. Since 2002, he has represented an organization of retired pilots in United Air Lines, Inc.’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and the appeals that have emanated from those proceedings, and he has developed extensive knowledge regarding the rights of retired employees during corporate bankruptcies.

Eric also works as a legal and business consultant for Chicago artists and arts organizations. He is an attorney volunteer for Lawyers for the Creative Arts and he is a former co-chair of the Creative Arts Committee for the Young Lawyer's Section of the Chicago Bar Association. He has served on the board of directors for Chicago-area theater companies and he has spoken on arts-related issues.

Eric graduated magna cum laude from Miami University (Ohio) in 1992 and received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1997 where he was a Clarence Darrow Scholar. He is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois and the Northern District of Indiana. He is also a member of the Chicago Bar Association.
